Jangalika,
House of Ashtanga Yoga

A Home Built Around Practice

Jangalika is not a yoga studio. It is not a resort, a retreat centre, or a wellness spa. It is Mannu's home — a personal house on Koh Phangan built around the daily practice of Ashtanga yoga.

The name comes from the Sanskrit word for 'jungle' — and the space reflects that: raw, quiet, alive. A teak wood shala open to the island air. A lotus pond that changes colour with the light. The sounds of birds and wind, not music and air conditioning.

This is the kind of environment that makes deep practice possible. There is nothing to distract you. There is nowhere to be except on your mat.

The Shala

Where the Practice Lives

The shala is a traditional teak wood structure, open on the sides to allow the morning breeze and the sounds of the island to enter freely. No air conditioning. No mirrors. No music.

The floor is smooth, warm wood — the kind that grounds you from the first step. The space is large enough for a full Mysore class, intimate enough for every student to receive individual attention.

Outside, the lotus pond reflects the sky. In the early morning, before practice, the water is still. By the time you finish, the lotus flowers are open.
